The collection's title is derived from the 1989 animated film "All Dogs Go to Heaven", produced by Amblin Entertainment and directed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman. This iconic movie laid the foundation for a universe of dog-centric entertainment, exploring themes of love, loyalty, redemption, and the afterlife, all wrapped in a delightful layer of humor and adventure.

Films and Spin-offs in the Collection

The "All Dogs Go to Heaven" collection spans across two feature films and several spin-offs, each contributing to the rich narrative and expanding the canine heaven realm.

The journey began with the original film, "All Dogs Go to Heaven", followed by its direct-to-video sequel, "All Dogs Go to Heaven 2". Since then, the collection has been enriched with spin-offs such as "An All Dogs Christmas", "All Dogs Go to Hell", and the beloved "101 Dalmatians: The Series".

All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989)

The original film introduces Charlie B. Barkin, a friendly pug who's killed by Carface, a malicious German Shepherd. After being sent to heaven, Charlie returns to Earth with the help of Itchy Itchiford, a flea-ridden mutt, to confront Carface and reclaim his fortune.

With its stunning animation, memorable characters, and heartwarming story, it's no surprise that this classic film is one of the most beloved in the collection. It teaches valuable lessons about the consequences of one's actions and the power of friendship.

All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (1996)

The sequel picks up where the original left off, with Charlie and Itchy enjoying their doggy paradise until they're sent back to Earth to stop Carface's sister, Red, from causing chaos. Joining forces with a clever Collie namedusenavy, our heroes embark on another exciting adventure.

"All Dogs Go to Heaven 2" offers a nostalgic experience for fans of the original, filled with action, humor, and thoughtful lessons about teamwork and overcoming fears. It perfectly complements the first film and further enriches the collection.

Spin-offs and Series

The success of the films led to the creation of several spin-offs and series, broadening the "All Dogs Go to Heaven" universe and introducing new characters that resonated with fans.

An All Dogs Christmas (1998) is an animated TV movie that follows Charlie, Itchy, and Wagging Tongue Tales, a German Shepherd, as they work together to save Christmas from a snowman run amok. This heartwarming tale emphasizes the true spirit of the holiday and the importance of community.

101 Dalmatians: The Series (1997-1998)

While not directly connected to the "All Dogs Go to Heaven" universe, "101 Dalmatians: The Series" is a beloved spin-off that explores the adventures of the iconic Dalmatians, created by renowned artist Dodie Smith. The show follows the 101 Dalmatians as they help deal with various situations, both exceptional and mundane, in their everyday lives.

Featuring humor, action, and plenty of heart, "101 Dalmatians: The Series" adds a whole new dimension to the "All Dogs Go to Heaven" collection, showcasing the incredible bond between dogs and their human families.
