Realistic Coloring Techniques

Capturing the realistic beauty of axolotls involves careful observation and precise application of color. Begin with the base colors, such as the axolotl's grayish-black body and pinkish-red gills. Use undertones and shading to create depth and dimension. For instance, add subtle blues or purples to the axolotl's body to create a realistic, iridescent sheen.

For the gills, experiment with blending pinks, reds, and browns to recreate the nuances of an axolotl's respiratory system. Gradually build up color, using darker shades to indicate shadows and lighter hues to highlight raised areas.
