Unveiled annually, this enchanting display is a local tradition that not only delights visitors but also supports a worthy cause. Let's explore the magic of Big W's Christmas Tree event and discover why it's become a staple in Colorado's festive calendar.

Big W, a prominent retail chain known for its affordable fashion, homewares, and gifts, turns into a winter wonderland each December. Their Christmas Tree spectacle, a hallmark of the brand's community involvement, is a must-see for families and festivity enthusiasts alike. But this event isn't just about the decorations; it's about giving back to the local community.

Dancing Through the Decades

Step into a mesmerizing journey through time as this year's display, 'Dancing Through the Decades,' brings Christmas traditions from the '40s, '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s, and '90s to life. Each decade-inspired tree is a meticulously crafted masterpiece, showcasing iconic trends, music, and pop culture of the era.

Witness the aftermath of World War II's austerity in the '40s tree, adorned with rationed materials and simple embellishments. Contrast this with the '50s tree, a true channeling of the Mid-Century Modern style, featuring bold geometric patterns and an array of pastel colors. Prepare to be amazed by the creativity and storytelling woven into each decade's representation.

Retro Ornaments

Big W's Christmas Tree event boasts an incredible collection of retro ornaments, carefully sourced to ensure authenticity. From '50s space-aged baubles to '90s slap bracelet noggins, every detail is painstakingly curated to immerse visitors in the era's spirit. Visit to discover and reminisce about your favorite decade's unique Yuletide charm.

Be sure to keep an eye out for Big W's event exclusive, decade-specific ornaments. These collector's items are not only a fun keepsake but also serve as a symbol of your contribution to the cause. Every ornament sale goes directly towards supporting local charities, making your purchase a festive act of giving.

Retro-Inspired Lighting

The trees aren't the only things getting a vintage makeover. Big W's event planners have painstakingly selected the appropriate retro lighting to complement each decade. Watch as twinkling '70s(":)-styleobacteria;") string lights illuminate the '70s tree, or witness the nostalgic glow of a '40s Edison bulb casting a warm glow over its counterpart.

But these aren't just ordinary lights; they're a crucial part of the immersive experience. As the sun sets, the display transforms into a kaleidoscope of color, transporting you back in time with each flash and flicker. Be sure to visit after dark to appreciate the full splendor of the show.

Community Involvement and Giving Back

A significant portion of Big W's Christmas Tree event is dedicated to supporting local charities. From hosting toy drives to fundraisers, they continually strive to bolster their community. This year, proceeds from ornament sales and event entry fees will go towards helping families in need during the holiday season.

But Big W's commitment to the community isn't just limited to monetary donations. The event attracts volunteers from various local organizations, providing opportunities for community service and engagement. Visiting the display isn't just about seeing something beautiful; it's about being part of something meaningful.
