About The Wizard of Oz

Published in 1900, L. Frank Baum's children's novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" introduced readers to the delightful adventures of young Dorothy and her raffish band of companions. The story's original draw was its beautiful illustrations, and our coloring pages pay tribute to that rich graphical heritage.

The 1939 film adaptation, produced by MGM and starring Judy Garland, brought Dorothy's tale to life in glorious color, entrancing generations with its magical costumes, unforgettable soundtrack, and poignant themes of friendship and home.

The Classic Characters

The immortal appeal of "The Wizard of Oz" is largely owed to its memorable ensemble cast. Our collection of coloring pages lets you color your favorite characters in vibrant detail:

• Dorothy: The wide-eyed farm girl who becomes our heroine on her journey down the yellow brick road.
• The Scarecrow: The brainless (yet surprisingly witty) straw man who longs for an intelligence of his own.
• The Tin Man: The once-living, now-robotic woodsman who seeks a heart, literally and metaphorically.
• The Cowardly Lion: The terrifying (but harmless) king of the beasts who desires bravery above all else.

Each character brings their unique charm and personality to the table, making "The Wizard of Oz" not just a classic tale, but a timeless testament to the power of friendship.

Iconic Scenes and Settings

Our coloring pages aren't limited to characters alone; they also capture the essence of the film's most iconic scenes and settings. From Dorothy's tornado-swept Kansas farm to the gleaming spires of the Emerald City, these pages let you color the very heart of Oz:
