Classic Christmas Themes with an Aussie Twist

Our collection showcases a delightful fusion of classic Christmas symbols and Australian icons. We've taken traditional Christmas motifs like Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and reindeer, and given them a distinct Aussie flavor.

For instance, instead of reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh, you'll find colorful images of kangaroos and koalas taking the reins. And, in place of evergreen trees, you'll see the vibrant, festive colors of Christmas decorations adorning gum trees and eucalyptus leaves.

Santa Claus Down Under

Meet Santa's Aussie counterparts - 'Santa Claus' in his traditional red suit, but with a kangaroo by his side instead of reindeer, and his bag of gifts made from an Australian boab tree. Imagine the delight of coloring in this unique twist on a classic Christmas image!

Our collection also includes another Australian Santa favorite—the 'Aussie Kris Kringle'. Here, you'll find Santa dressed in laid-back 'Aussie' attire, donning a wide-brimmed hat, thoroughbred jodhpurs, and Akubra boots. He's serving cold, delicious Vegemite on his Christmas day!

Australian Wildlife Christmas scenes

Imagine a Christmas feast hosted by Australia's iconic wildlife. Our coloring pages capture these whimsical scenes. From kangaroos and koalas, to wombats and quokkas, each page tells a story of an Aussie Christmas thats nothing short of magical.

You'll find platypuses, echidnas, and others enjoying a fair dinkum Aussie Christmas barbie, with holds of juicy prawns, lamb, and pavlova on the menu. In this delightful world, everything is decked out in fairy lights and Christmas cheer.

Unique Australian Christmas Symbols

Our collection wouldn't be complete without highlighting some uniquely Australian Christmas symbols, many of which have become beloved traditions.

From the jolly 'Christmas beetle' that arrives just in time for the holidays, to the classic 'Christmas bush' that blooms with red flowers, these images are perfect for teaching kids about the special characteristics of an Australian Christmas.

Christmas Beetles

These festive beetles, with their vibrant green and red shells, are a much-loved symbol of Christmas in Australia. Our coloring pages feature these little critters, helping to teach children about the connection between these insects and the holiday season.

Your children will love coloring in the segmented patterns on a Christmas beetle's back, and exploring the myths and legends surrounding these beautiful creatures. Some say the Christmas beetle's shell turns red due to the heat of the Christmas fire, or because it's the favorite food of the Holy Infant Jesus!

Christmas Bush

Australia's Christmas bush (Ceratopetalum gummiferum) is a sprawling, evergreen shrub that blooms with beautiful red flowers during the holiday season. Our coloring pages showcase the Christmas bush, often with presents and decorations\label{label:par14} under its branches.

Some Australian families have a Christmas bush in their gardens, and believe it's bad luck to trim the bush's branches too short, or to allow its flowers to fall on the ground. These fascinating traditions add a touch of local folklore to your Christmas celebration.

With our free printable Australian Christmas coloring pages, you can bring the joy of Christmas to every child, infusing a touch of Australian heritage into the storytelling. Get printing, grab your crayons, and bask in the Christmas spirit—Down Under!
