Choose Your Paper

Printer paper comes in various weights and sizes. For a Ninja star, standard 8.5 x 11-inch copy paper works well. It's easy to fold and withstands a bit of wear and tear. You can also try decorative papers for added fun!

Prepare Your Workspace

Find a comfortable, well-lit workspace. Lay out your materials and get ready to create! If you're working with kids, be sure they're comfortable using scissors safely.

Fold in Half Lengthwise

Take your sheet of paper and fold it in half lengthwise. You should have a crease down the middle. Then, open it back up so it's flat again.

Fold into Thirds

Next, fold the paper into thirds along the same line. You should have two creases, making three even sections. Again, open it back up.

Form the Star Points

Form the First Point

With the paper still folded into thirds, grasp the top two corners firmly. Pull them toward the center, stop when the edges meet, and crease. You should now see the beginnings of a point.

Form the Rest of the Points

Repeat this process for the other two points. You'll have a three-pointed star shape. Now, let's make more points to complete our ninja star!

Create the Secondary Points

We'll now add two more points to make our star a five-pointed ninja star.

Fold for Second Layer of Points

Grasp each point and fold them in half toward the center. You should now have six points.

Fold for Final Points

Next, grip each of the new six points and fold them in half again. This time, fold them toward the outer edges of the star. You'll have created five more points, giving your star ten points in total.

Complete Your Ninja Star

Almost there! Just a few more steps to go.

Glue or Tape the Edges

Open your star back up to its flat form. Apply a small line of glue or tape along the outer edge of each point. Be sure not to overlap the edges or add too much glue - we want our star to spin properly!

Let it Dry and Spin!

Allow your glue or tape to dry completely. Once dry, gently spin your ninja star between your fingers. It should whirl around smoothly, just like a real ninja weapon!

Congratulations! You've just created a ninja star using nothing but paper and a few simple folds. This craft is not only fun but also teaches kids about geometry and symmetry. Now that you've mastered the paper ninja star, why not try other origami projects? The possibilities are endless. Happy crafting!
