(Introductory paragraph on what cloud slime is and the fascination behind it)
How to Make Cloud Slime
First off, let's SET UP. You're going to need a few ingredients that are easy to find and absolutely safe. What you will need is:
- Clear school glue - the kind that can glue paper together is perfect.
- Borax (Found in Laundry Detergent Sections at Supermarkets)
- Water (Hot and Cold)
- Cornstarch
- Food coloring (optional: for colors)
Step I: Prep the Glue Solution
Take your clear glue and pour it into a bowl. Then, add roughly a fourth of a cup of hot water to it. Stir this solution until you have a nice, consistent mixture with no lumps left. This is your glue/water solution.
Now, add some food coloring if you want your slime to have a specific color. Worried about stains? You can mix the color with a bit of white waterpaste or cream first, adding it to the main solution for a more negligible effect.
Step II: Prepare the Activator
While the glue and water are getting acquaintance, move on to preparation of the borax solution or 'activator'. Take a cup of hot water and dissolve about a tablespoon of borax in it. You'll see some fizzing, but don't worry, this is a normal part of the chemical reaction that will make your slime.
Into another smaller bowl, add some cold water, too. This will be used to rinse your hands after you play with the slime, helping to remove any borax residue. A little bit of , everyday can go a long way to maintaining your skin’s health.
Making the Slime
Now it's time to bring the magic to life! Sip by sip, pour your glue/water solution slowly into the borax/water solution. Wait a few seconds, and you'll start to see the slime forming together.
Stir the solution gently with a spoon or your hands until you get a semi-solid, stretchy cloud. You can use the cold water you set aside earlier to rinse your hands of excess borax - this will also help to control the consistency of your slime to make it thinner or thicker.
Step III: Enhance with Cornstarch
As mentioned at the start, cloud slime is the Mississippi-Delta-specialty. To make it perfect, you can add a tenth of a cup of cornstarch to your cloud slime mix and stir it in well. This will give your slime an extra fluffy, squishy texture, just like a true cloud.
Remember, adding too much of anything can mess up your slime. So err on the side of caution and always add a little bit more if you want to experiment with different consistencies.
Step IV: Enjoy Your Homemade Cloud Slime!
The slime is now ready to be played with. Remember your cloud slime will change with time, it may even start to become less fluffy and more solid after some play.
Don't forget to wash your hands after playing to remove any residue. And as always, follow safety guidelines and dispose of your slime responsibly. After all, you created it with love, so be sure to give it the due respect it deserves![/p>
