Story of Jesus' Temptation in the Wilderness

After Jesus' baptism in the Jordan River, he spends 40 days and 40 nights fasting in the Judean Desert. During this period, the devil, or Satan, approaches him three times, presenting enticing offers to test Jesus' faith. In each instance, Jesus répondre with a quote from the Book of Deuteronomy, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to God's will.

The first temptation involves turning stones into bread to satisfy Jesus' hunger. The second challenge is to throw himself off the temple in Jerusalem, trusting that God's angels would protect him. In the final test, Satan offers Jesus all the kingdoms of the world in exchange for worshipping him. Each temptation is an invitation to put Jesus' faith to the test, all of which he resists.
