Alolan Ninetales Guide & Info on Serebii

In the realm of Pokémon, the Alolan Ninetales is a fascinating creature that has captivated trainers and enthusiasts alike. Introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon, this Ice/Fairy-type Pokémon is a Regional Form of the classic Ninetales, originating from the tropical Alola region. But what makes the Alolan Ninetales unique, and how does it fare in battles? Let's delve into the captivating world of this elegant and powerful Pokémon.

Alolan Ninetales boasts a sleek, modern design that sets it apart from its Kanto counterpart. Adorned with a mane of nine beautiful, long tails, it resembles a graceful snow leopard, an adaptation to its native environment. Its blue eyes hint at a mysterious and intelligent demeanor, further enhanced by its unique cry, reminiscent of a tinkling bell.

The Evolutionary Lineage and Obtaining Alolan Ninetales

The journey to obtaining an Alolan Ninetales begins with a Sandshrew. In the Alola region, this usually means finding a Sandshrew in Route 4, a region with plenty of Ice Rock habitats. Evolving Sandshrew into Sandslash requires a Thunder Stone, which can be found in various locations across the region, including Po Town on Akala Island.

Once you've obtained a Sandslash, evolving it into an Alolan Sandslash requires levelling it up during the night. From there, level it up further during nighttime in the Snow Hip District of Route 8 to evolve into the majestic Alolan Ninetales. Alternatively, you can trade a regular Ninetales from another region to the Pokémon Center in Koniko Town to obtain an Alolan Ninetales.

Base Stats and Abilities

The Alolan Ninetales boasts impressive base stats, with a total of 495. It has a immense Special Attack stat of 90 and a decent Speed stat of 75. Its defensive stats are modest, with 81 HP, 75 Defense, and 100 Special Defense. Its ability, Snow Cloak, increases its evasion in hail, helping it evade hits more effectively.

For a Fairy/Ice-type Pokémon, Alolan Ninetales has an impressive move pool. Its signature move, Freeze-Dry, is a powerful Ice-type move that deals double damage to Dragon-types. Other notable moves include Blizzard, Icy Wind, and Dazzling Gleam. Its diverse move pool allows it to create strategic battle plans, making it a formidable opponent.

Alolan Ninetales in Competitive Battles

Alolan Ninetales' unique typing and move pool make it an intriguing competitive contender. Its ability to transcend common Ice-type weaknesses to Fighting and Rock-types allows it to check opponents that would otherwise be troublesome. Its free Precipice Blades Hod and Freeze-Dry also make it a potent special sweeper, capable of dealing significant damage to opponents.

However, Alolan Ninetales' modest base stat totals and defensive stats make it somewhat fragile, necessitating careful stacking and a strategic team composition. Pairing it with Pokémon that can set up hazard control, such as Forretress and Levitate users, can help mitigate its frailty. Additionally, utilizing its ability to run Hail in synergy with Pokémon like Weavile and Froslass can create a formidable Ice-type hazard-focused team.

The Enchanting Aura of Alolan Ninetales

Beyond its formidable battle prowess, Alolan Ninetales exudes an aura of elegance and nobility. Its graceful movements and captivating cry make it an instant fan favorite. Furthermore, its unique typing and design make it an attractive addition to any trainer's team, offering both aesthetic and strategic appeal.

The enchanting allure of Alolan Ninetales is not lost on the Pokémon franchise's meta-narrative. In the anime, an Alolan Ninetales appears in the episode "Steamboat Willies," where it uses its charisma and charm to save-Ash and his friends from a group of dangerous Pokémon. This incident underscores the capacity for Alolan Ninetales to leverage its enchanting aura to manipulate and influence others, a testament to its intriguing character and lore.

In the vast and diverse world of Pokémon, Alolan Ninetales stands out as a captivating and formidable Pokémon.
