The Creation of the Skylanders

Before we dive into the books, let's briefly explore the origin of the Skylanders. The Skylanders series began with the release of "Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure" in 2011. This action-adventure game introduced the innovative toys-to-life concept, allowing players to import physical toy figures into the game using the Portal of Power.

The series has since expanded to include numerous games, figures, and even books. The official Skylanders books provide insights into the characters, their backstories, and the rich world they inhabit, complementing the gaming experience and offering new ways to engage with the franchise.

After familiarizing yourself with the origins of some main characters, you might ask, "What happens next in the Skylanders book order?" To find out, let's delve into another captivating series centered around a young aspiring hero.

Skylanders: The Advertures of a Spy Master

In 2018, Activision released "Skylanders: The Advertures of a Spy Master" by Tony DiTerlizzi, an acclaimed author and illustrator. This young adult novel introduces readers to Adam Rigitolo, a young man who becomes entangled in the world of the Skylanders after discovering an ancient, powerful artifact called the Rainbow Quill.

The story explores themes of identity, power, and responsibility as Adam, or Spyro as he comes to be known, navigates the challenges of being a hero in the Skylands. The novel stands on its own but also ties into the events of "Skylanders: Imaginators." Fans of the games will recognize many familiar faces and locations, making this book an engaging read for both new and veteran Skylanders enthusiasts.

The Mysteries of Kaos

Following the events of "The Advertures of a Spy Master," the Skylanders universe expanded with another captivating series: "The Mysteries of Kaos." This collection of middle-grade novels delves into the complex and often misunderstood character of Kaos, the mischievous and power-hungry Sorcerer, providing insights into his motivations and backstory.

written by Marty Scott, these books offer a fresh perspective on the Skylanders universe, exploring the relationships between established characters and introducing new ones. If you're eager to learn more about Kaos and his connection to the Skylands, this series is a must-read.

Return of Kaos

The first book in "The Mysteries of Kaos" series, "Return of Kaos," picks up where "The Advertures of a Spy Master" left off. Following the events of the young adult novel, Kaos finds himself stranded in the human world with no memory of his past exploits. As he searches for answers and a way back to the Skylands, Kaos encounters new challenges and forms unlikely alliances.

Through Kaos' eyes, readers gain a deeper understanding of the Skylands and its inhabitants, as well as the true nature of the power-hungry sorcerer himself. "Return of Kaos" is an engaging and humorous read that will delight both young and adult fans alike.

Attack of Kaos

In the sequel to "Return of Kaos," Kaos faces a new threat: a dark force within the Skylands itself. As he works to prevent the destruction of his homeland, Kaos must confront his own past and the choices he's made. Along the way, he teams up with familiar characters, including Spyro and the Skylanders Academy students.

"Attack of Kaos" builds upon the foundation established in "Return of Kaos," further developing Kaos as a character and exploring the complex relationships between the Skylanders themselves. This middle-grade novel is an excellent choice for younger readers or those seeking a more lighthearted and family-friendly Skylanders adventure.

After exploring the intricate world of Kaos and his connection to the Skylands, you might be curious about the future of the franchise and the potential for new literature.
