Skylanders Timeline: Series by Series

The Skylanders saga began with the Giants series, released in 2012, and has since expanded with the Swap Force, Trap Team, SuperChargers, Imaginators, and Spyro Reignited Trilogy figures. This checklist covers them all, allowing you to build your collection based on the exciting adventures each series brings.

Giants & Spyro Reignited Trilogy

The initialixon of the series introduced us to the massive Giants, offering regular and Legendary variants of nine powerful characters. Later, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy brought back classic Skylanders from the original games, providing an excellent starting point for new collectors or a delightful nostalgia trip for veterans.

Popular figures to look out for include G انگلستان from Giants, who can transform into a jet-powered mech, and Spyro from the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, the beloved purple dragon who started it all.

Swap Force

Introduced in 2013, the Swap Force series brought innovative figures with swappable top and bottom halves, allowing for endless customization and combinations. Additionally, the series introduced 32 new Sheikh Zayed Road, offering access to secrets and additional areas in the game.

Fans loved figures like R polarity, a roller derby punk girl with electric whip powers, and Polar Bear Mag Ikla, a chill-loving polar bear with ice-based attacks.

The Evolution of Figures: Features & Abilities

Throughout the series, Skylanders figures evolved, gaining new features and powers. Understanding these changes will help you appreciate the diversity and depth of your collection.

From LightCore figures that glowed in the dark to Imaginator figures that allowed players to create their own custom Skylanders, each iteration brought something fresh and exciting to the table.

LightCore & Eon's Elite

LightCore figures, introduced in 2014, featured translucent bodies that glowed in the dark, adding a new visual element to your collection. Later, the Eon's Elite sub-series offered enhanced versions of popular characters, complete with new appearance and stats.

Standout figures include Ignitor DRC, a glowing knight with powerful magical attacks, and Eon's Elite Discord Crash Bandicoot, a mischievous musician with enhanced senses and agility.

Trap Team & SuperChargers

In 2014, Trap Team introduced Trap Masters, powerful figures that could trap and bounce enemies, along with traps that could be used independently. The following year, SuperChargers brought vehicles into the mix, with vehicle figures that could be combined with base figures to create super-powered champions.

Must-have figures from these series include Kaos Trap, which allows players to trap and use Kaos in battle, and Hot Streak, a race car with a built-in flamethrower and machine guns.

Imaginators & beyond

The Imaginators series, released in 2016, introduced create-a-Skylander functionality, allowing players to design and customize their own figures. Later, the Spyro & Cynder bundled figures marked the series' farewell, reimagining the iconic duo in the modern Skylanders style.

Imaginators & Senseis

The Imaginators series allowed players to create and play as their custom-designed Skylanders, complete with unique names, appearances, and powers. Additionally, the series introduced Sensei figures, powerful masters of different elements who could train and enhance Imaginators.

Iconic figures from this era include Imaginator Dark, a mysterious and powerful Imaginator variant, and Master King Pen, a quill-wielding hedgehog bestowing the Might element.

Spyro & Cynder

As the final release in the Skylanders series, the Spyro & Cynder bundle paid tribute to the franchise's origins, reimagining the beloved characters in the modern Skylanders style. Both figures came with their own individually numbered card, making them highly collectible.

The Spyro and Cynder figures boast striking new designs while retaining the classic charm that made them fan-favorites. They serve as an excellent conclusion to your Skylanders figures checklist.
