Historic Beginnings

Going back in time, we find the first instance of Snoopy 'laying down' for Christmas in Charlie Brown's 1965 animated television special, "A Charlie Brown Christmas." This classic clip, where Snoopy dreams of a life as a World War I Flying Ace instead of simply a dog, introduced us to this cheeky tradition.

The Art of Vince Guaraldi

Snoopy's Influence on the Storyline

Created by Charles Schulz, Snoopy has been part of the Peanuts gang since 1950, but it's the genius of composer Vince Guaraldi that brought him center stage in the Christmas special. Guaraldi's memorable score, featuring the iconic "Linus and Lucy" theme, perfectly complements Snoopy's daydream sequences.
