Velociraptors, meaning "swift thief," were a genus of dromaeosaurid dinosaurs that lived during the late Cretaceous Period, around 75-71 million years ago. Despite being portrayed as large, intelligent creatures in popular culture, real velociraptors were relatively small, roughly the size of a turkey, with feathers and an agile, bird-like body.

Famous for their large, sickle-shaped claws and forward-facing nostrils, velociraptors were expert hunters, capable of running at high speeds and likely using their intelligence to take down prey. Their unique features and intriguing nature make them a popular subject for coloring enthusiasts.
