Goku's Main Color: What Is It?

When it comes to the iconic Dragon Ball series, one character stands out with his signature saiyan markings, powerful energy blasts, and ever-evolving hairstyle – Goku. A true super saiyan, Goku's character has evolved significantly since his first appearance, with his color scheme being a notable visual indicator of these transformations.

Goku's main color, or rather, his primary form, is generally linked to his original saiyan appearance. Before delving into his transformed colors, let's revisit his base form.

Goku's Base Form

In his base form, Goku is primarily known for his spiky black hair, which grows significantly longer with each series iteration. His eyes are a striking golden color, a trait shared with all saiyans, and his skin tone is a light, almost olive, color.

His attire in this form has been consistent throughout the series, with his most iconic outfit being the bright blue overall and a white undershirt with a red collar, arken back to his initial trainers in Dragon Ball. This color scheme has become synonymous with Goku's base form.

Young Goku and Goku Black

Although Goku's base form is generally associated with adulthood, let's not forget his younger incarnations. Young Goku's hair was shorter and less spiky, but the bright blue and white color scheme remained constant. Notably, in "Dragon Ball Super," Goku Black, an alternate timeline version of Goku, maintains a similar appearance, with the main difference being his jet-black hair.

Nevertheless, it's Goku's transformations that considerably change his color scheme, making it a significant visual cue for viewers to track his power levels and emotional state.

Goku's Transformed Colors

When Goku transforms, his color scheme undergoes notable changes, reflecting his escalating power levels. From his Super Saiyan forms to his Ultra Instinct state, these colors have become iconic in the Dragon Ball universe.

Let's explore some of Goku's most significant transformed colors:

Super Saiyan Forms

The Super Saiyan forms perhaps make the most significant change to Goku's color scheme. In his initial Super Saiyan form, his hair becomes a golden blonde, with his skin tone lightening slightly. His outfit often changes, with the iconic blue and white getting replaced by shades of blue, orange, and white in subsequent forms (Super Saiyan 2, 3, etc.).

Notably, Goku's Super Saiyan Blue form, introduced in Dragon Ball Super, features a darker blue hair color and a more refined, powerful look than his previous forms.

Ultra Instinct and Other Transformations

Goku's Ultra Instinct form is another notable transformation that changes his color scheme. In this form, his hair regains its original black color, but with a shiny, metallic sheen. His eyes turn scarlet, and his aura is a shimmering blue, giving him a sleek, powerful appearance.

Other transformations like the Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan forms exhibit unique color schemes, with distinct golden orbs of light around Goku's body, indicating his godly power.

From his base form to his various transformations, Goku's color scheme has evolved significantly, becoming a visual shorthand for his power levels and emotional state. This vibrant and dynamic aspect of Goku's character design is just one of the many reasons why he remains a beloved and iconic figure in the world of anime.
